Z Force | Shiraz Petit Syrah

  • Details

Colour: An inky almost impenetrable purple potion. Dark as night. Or as Dark as Shiraz and Petite Sirah from the top of McLaren Vale should be. Nose: An extraordinary array of aromatics – but overall an purity of McLaren Vale Shiraz – ripening blackberries combined with some rare earth smells, likely freshly dug soil. Then alluring pure black cherry, raspberry, liquorice, and spring flowers jump from the glass, pepper spice, macerated berries and a hint of pink grapefruit. Entry: Mouth filling. Palate changing immense and intense but still with soft and fragrant red fruits. Some dried garden herb and lifted cigar box but overall blackberries and old boots characters. Complimented with rich dark cacao chocolate the 99% version. Middle Palate: Wave after wave of seemingly endless juicy round blackberry fruits, tempered with the soft idiosyncratic milky McLaren Vale Shiraz sweetness and roundness and spike of red citrus and cranberry notes. After Palate: Lush mouth filling with rolling soft, fine grained fruit tannin. The Z-Force doesn’t quit, there is so much in there but this point it is almost overwhelming. Finish: It fans out like a peacocks tail of pure and profound Shiraz fruit. Blueberries and cedary tannin and more blackberries and cream and some caramelised grapefruit zest. Minutes later, we timed 3 minutes the flavour still lingers.
